Penguinly ("we," "us") operates penguinly.co, a directory of buildings and businesses across Ontario, Canada. This page explains what information we collect, why, and what choices you have. If anything here is unclear, email us at penguinly.co@gmail.com.
What we collect
- Account info: your email address, used to sign you in via a one-time magic link or Google sign-in. If you sign in with Google, we may also store the name Google shares with us.
- Content you submit: business listings, ownership claim evidence, reviews, ratings, "for sale" posts, and reports you file. This is tied to your account.
- Business info: when you submit or claim a listing, details like address, phone, website, and business email are stored and, once approved, shown publicly as part of the directory — that's the point of the site.
Analytics
We use Vercel Web Analytics to see how many people visit and which pages are popular. It's cookieless and doesn't track you individually or across other sites.
What we don't do
We don't run ad-tracking scripts, and we don't sell your information to anyone. We don't use your data for anything beyond running the directory.
Who we share it with
We use a small number of service providers to run the site: Supabase (database, login, and file storage), Vercel (hosting), and OpenStreetMap's Nominatim service (to look up map coordinates for business addresses — no personal data is sent, just the address text). We don't share your data with anyone beyond what's needed to operate these services.
Your choices
You can review and remove your own submitted content from your account page. To request a copy of your data or to have your account fully deleted, email penguinly.co@gmail.com and we'll take care of it.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes in a meaningful way, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
